Put new starter on car, starter turns great have 12 volts at coil took coil wire off cap and checked for spark when put buy intake and have spark which tells me points are ok. Still no spark at plugs changed condenser and rotor cap and tried a new coil wire to cap still no spark. What I’m I missing

bad gear on end of distributor causing it not to turn? Remove cap crank, is distributor turning?

Check thw wire for the "S" terminal on the starter. I think purple (if I remember correctly). That will cause a no start if loose or off

Certain the spring contact on the rotor is touching the contact button in the cap?

Did it start & run with old starter?

The car ran great before changing starter the old one was weak when hot so I put in a lt1 starting it and had the correct solenoid installed on it the car started right up, took it for a drive the next day and when I turned it off it wouldn’t start again. NOW I only have 5.4 volts at +on coil

Verify you have the two red wires with fuse links and battery positive cable connect to the large terminal.
Yellow goes to the "R" terminal.
Purple goes to the "S" terminal.

Pull the wire to the coil + and see what the voltage is through meter to ground. Should be less than battery due to resistor wire (6-9V)
Then crank and make sure the solenoid relay is energizing and supplying full battery voltage during crank.

Also make sure points are clean.

I've put new brushes in along with a cleanup of armature commutator and starter life is back to like new.
    Hope you figure it out.

Does the LT1 starter have the "R" terminal?

Sorry, saw you stated it had the correct terminals. Thought LT1's didn't have R terminal.

Had to have them put on the correct solenoid, I’m only getting 5.4 volts at + side on coil

Look for a broken or damaged fusible link at the starter
