I have a 64 Riv, that I purchased a year ago. Still learning it's bad habits. I have a single 4 barrel. It may sit in the garage for a day or a week, between times I drive it. The longer it sets the more I have to pump it to get gas to the carb. I know evaporation is a problem, but it seems like I have to pump it too much even if it sets for a day. For example, if I don't start it for 48 hours, I have to pump it 15 or 20 times for it to fire. Sometimes it will run a few seconds then quit like it is starved for gas. Pump 4 or 5 more times, and away we go. I just tuned her up, and I get a little quicker start, but still have to pump. Choke seems to set OK. Hate to keep grinding on the starter. Any ideas? o No: :stmad: ou:
Have a look at this thread, it may be the same problem: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27091 (I have the exact same problem on my car, going to fix that some day...)
