I was shooting around the idea of putting nitrous on my car next year. I was just seeing what your thoughts were on the subject. I have a 72' Olds 455 block bored 60 over with Keith black 11:1 pistons, Eagle rods, mild cam and so forth. I also run a dual carb setup and am not quite sure how I would hook that up. What is you take on a setup and how much juice do you think she will take(safely)?

Its my understanding that nitrous likes lower compression ratios much like forced induction does. Unless you have forged pistons I'd be real careful.

    I wouldn't spray a Hyp. piston!!!

I had a friend with a Chevy motor that had VERY bad luck spraying a Hyp. piston.

They run real tight skirt clearances and are brittle in comparison to most forged. Your ring end gap should be adjusted as well, with much more end gap on the top and a bit more on the second.

I wouldn't spray it either, but if all is correct, a 100 shot might work. Good timing curve, proper fuel delivery and good luck should do it.

I would call KB and ask them what they would do. You might find out the clearances on the rings and skirts before you call as well.
