Here is the scoop: Nitrous or no nitrous.. I have a Moser rear on the way for my 84 t-type. It has a 400 tranny with a brake, the converter has not been ordered. Boxed in control arms ,air bags and four "drag shocks", and a full weld to the frame roll cage is on the way. The motor is a 455 Buick with TA STG 2 TE heads. Stock rods with polish beams and ARP bolts. Stock crank with cross drilling (not drilled yet but rough ground, needs polish). I have not picked the cam , but Finishline will be grinding one up. The Intake is the SP2 with Dominator carb . . All I'm doing with this car is squashing the other brands around town (private closed course racing  ) and no nitrous bracket racing. No girdle and a custom oil pan, possibly a scavenger pump.

10.2 -1 Forged JE pistons and since my friends have NOS I figured I might as well . 93 oct or a mix when I know I'll be using the gas. 150hp plate sounds good.

    poll: nitrous?

Is there a need for street use? Are you going for a "sleeper" effect? What are your pistons & compression ratio? Race fuel or pump gas?

10.2 ish to 1... JE customs . .Ne need really. Most of the guys I hang with have it and they just screw around with eachother 95% of the time .. :3gears: I could mix the race fuel with 93 if i know I'll be using it. Otherwise 110 for the track with MSD controls and 150 plate if I think the motor will handle it ? First Buick build.

Seems like you'll be pushing a lot of HP with no girdle...

I thought a plate might make a bit too much for the bottom end .. a few guys say a two stage plate with retard box should keep things together. However, they are chevy guys and turbo v-6 buick guys...

    dont need no girdle

Well in my opinion you dont need a girdle!!!!!! :Smarty:All you need is a good fuel system good gas (110octane at least) and the right tune up. I run stock rods(polished) crank(not cross drilled ) stage 1 self ported and still use stock rockers(aluminum) with an 850 holley and 225shot it goes way into the 10's NO GIRDLE and im pushn lower than that this year. Dont let those who are scared deter you. There are cars in the 8's without girdle. Start low with you spray check your plugs and keep fuel pressure. Work your way up.

    Here is an update :

MSD distributor- glass hood, deck lid, front and rear bumpers. Gutting the interior as we speak. I'll have all the extra metal out and then were putting the interior back in. Were cutting everything out around the screw holes so the panels will screw back in. I am looking at some old tube A arms next week. I live 1 mile from an old circle track and those G bodies were popular, so are the parts.

Should be down less than 3000...

The motor has been balanced with alum / steel harmonic bal and the wheel flex plate.
