hello all. I just found this site and I can't believe the information thats available. I own a 1970 buick gsx non stage 455 automatic 3.42 car. My dad bought it new in '70 and I'v owned it since '85. Right now it has a warmed over 455 in it. I plan to play with it some more once the weather gets nicer. I look forward to talking to all of you.

Welcome!!! I relatively new myself. I've learned alot since I started to look through this site. You should expect the same. Often times the big fish chime in, and give us the much needed technical info.

    Enjoy!!

P.S. That's a very nice car to start a hobby with. I wish my 70 GS was like yours.

    thanks

thanks joe. The funny part is it was the family car until 85. My dad used it as a work car for many years. The gas crunch was hell on him but he never thought of selling it. In short the car has flipped the odometer twice but is still in great shape. He took great care of it. Now i enjoy it

When you are making a post, there is an "Attach File" box towards the bottom of the page. Click on the "browse" button and you can find your picture in your computer's directory somewhere. then when you are done typing your message, click submit reply. That should do it.

Give it a try, but you already have to have a picture on your computer to use this function.

While you're trying to get that pic attached, tell us what color? White or yellow? Is the paint original??

Some guys get all the luck! Thank God your dad had the brains to buy that GSX, eh?

It's yellow. All the paint is original except for behind the wheels. Years ago my dad had to fix a couple of small rust spots. Remember this was our only car until 85. Admittedly the paint could use a redo but finding someone to lay that red stripe with the slight step in it is a challenge. I had one guy tell me 10,000 dollars. Not that the car isn't worth it but i figure if i'm going to spend that kind of money i might as well do a full resto. In the meantime I cruise with my family in it My son loves the car so I guess when he's old enough we'll restore it together.(he's only 8 right now). Hey ken, that green one you have is beautiful. I'm still in the process of getting a picture of mine together. Chris. my dad had a long string of nice cars back then including a 64 olds,a 67 442 convertible,a 69 gs 400, and then the gsx. After that my mother told him thats it. At least he had the good sense to hold onto that one.

Wow, welcome to the board Steve. It's amazing all of these people that have GSXs on here, or maybe it just seems like more than there really is. Glad to have another GSX owner on board, I'm sure you find answers to all of your questions and find the board resourceful. Also, consider joining the BPG so that we can get these repro parts rolling. If you need '70 Tail light lenses, Alan Faircloth is reproducing them and I would recommend ordering a set so that he can continue on with overflow tanks, etc.
