    big ouch on the rust!

Cool ride though! My LeSabre was a 4dr sedan:Brow: I liek the sedans because I don't have to worry about lining the windows up to seal right!

Well it was on eBay and I just caught the auction with about a day left. Kept my eye on it and ended up buying the car for a measly $510!

I bought it off this older guy who lives out in the sticks outside of San Diego. Apparently he was the 2nd owner... he put a trailer hitch on it and was going to use it to tow his horse trailer, but never got around to it. So the car ended up sitting in his yard for the last year rusting and getting infested with rats. I just opened the trunk and it's a sorry sight. :gt: Unfortunately it looks unlikely that this Buick can be saved but I'm very sure the 455 and TH400 can be.

Smartin... Yeah I remember your green LeSabre. Was a nice looking beast!

I had a light green 71 LeSabre 4 door sedan. Loved it. It was a low milage chicago car, with only a little rust in the lower quarters, perfect cloth interior. Sold it for $750 in the mid 90s. I fear it got lowered with a bowling ball paint job...:ball:

I think I lucked out with this one. This is also low mileage for it's age-- 90K. The rust is a "big ouch" as Adam mentioned, but it runs very well, and has a lot of cool options... power everything, disc brakes, etc. I think the plan is to keep the 455/TH400 and part the rest out.

It really is too bad about this one... maybe just a few more days inside of a garage instead of a field would've saved it. Also too bad that the LeSabre isn't really in demand... it really is a cool cruiser!!

What kind of options does it have? PW, PL?

Power windows, door locks & seats. Also has speed alert and a trip odometer. Not sure if disc brakes were standard on LeSabres, but this one has 'em.

I will be sure to let you know. I'll be taking a much needed 2 1/2 week vacation, but I'll probably be ready to start taking it apart in mid-December.
