So this is what Im working with now. Appears to be a relatively low milage 1973 motor. Previous owner pulled it out of a running car.Has been stored indoors. Its a virgin motor. Was hoping to be able to get away with a honing and new rings. Dont want to bore or deck if not absolutely necessary. Wont know anything till I take it to machine shop. There is some rust In the cylinders that needs cleaning. Going to drop the oil pan. Will see how the crank and bearings look. I've seen worse. I hope the bores are good. That might be your issue that requires a bore.

What are your plans for it? Stock rebuild or warming it up a bit?

Neoprene front and rear seals for sure. Cam looks a lot better than my original 71 350 that had 91000 miles.

Going into a 68 riviera. Will not see anything above 3500 rpm. Main concern is reliability

Looks like #6 & #8 cylinders definitely had water sitting in them. My 76' block had the same but in #3 &#6. Ended up boring block .030 over to clean everything up. Maybe the corrosion isn't as bad as my block was. I agree about the camshaft. Way cleaner than my 76' 455 was. Good luck!

At minimum, the block should be square-decked, and the heads checked for flatness/smoothness.
