Hi everyone, I'm new to the Buick scene. Well, not totally. I know what the taillights of a 70 GS Stage 1 look like as the disappear into the tire smoke:jd:
LOL. Welcome aboard. Make yourself at home. Always cozy in hear. What's your name? Most of us are on first name basis.:Comp: Ivan
Hi, Ivan. My name's George. Like I said, I've got a friend who had a Stage 1 and I really didn't know that there was this many TriShield fans. Looking forward to gettin to know everybody.
Hi, Adam. Weldon is town of 450 about 25 miles northeast of Decatur, Ill. I work in Decatur and it's around 100 miles away from StLouis. You're in St. Peters, right? My in-laws used to live in OFallon; been past there before.
Ahh...yeah I'm familiar with Decatur. Our college Jazz band plays concerts and festivals out that way every once in a while. I have a few friends from there also. Most of the time, we spend our days at Milikin with the music folks.
Welcome 2 the board George...all goood people here on this board...you have come 2 the right place...
Frank, Thanx for the compliment ! I'm not too sure on how fast i was going , I was busy looking on the floor for my cell phone !! ou:  :TU:
Heads for a 455 I'm new to Buick also. I guess I didnt want to build another Ford or Chevy that would blend in with the masses. Anyway, what is the best head for 455s these days? Edelbrock makes them for Olds and Pontiac but not Buick. Any help would be appreciated.
www.taperformance.com :TU: :TU: Aluminum Stage1 and Stage2 heads.... Get your wallet ready for those!
Any iron head will work as long as you match it to the year of the block. Otherwise you'll be getting into modifications with blocking water passages & such.:gt: You can convert the standard small valve 455 head to Stage1 specs by installing new valves and enlarging the bowl. If you don't enlarge the bowl, you actually end up restricting flow more than if you had standard valves in it. If you're not into doing this kind of thing, find someone who is. There are a few guys on the board here that really know their stuff.
