    Survivor vs. Restoration?
This can be a can of worms.
I have seen numerous "Survivor Cars" that people THINK are more Valuable, but are nothing but GREAT Candidates for Restoration.
Yes, I COMPLETELY agree, it is Original 1 time, but then again we are looking at various items that are in most cases 30 years old or more, and Age DOES take it's effects.
Rubber lines, & hoses, even Steel deteriorates over time.
Depending on what a person wants, a Restoration Can make the car better than it was originally, as a Driver, and if it is to be Shown.
If pain't is Not as good as it was, and can't be revitalized, GO FOR IT.
It is STILL going to protect the metal better than thin original with surface rust, or cracks & chips.

Hey that thing doesn't have aluminum fenders does it? I know only certai ncars had them for straight racing, but im just curious.

    3shields Let's go, MOUNTAINEERS!!!

    Don't think they are aluminum.....

    Actually,

The fenders are steel, but very lightweight. I was amazed how thin and light they are. I have heard that some of these were dipped in acid to thin them? I don't know if that is the case, but these fenders are thin....very thin. I will have to repair the passenger floor pan in this car, but the rest of the body is incredible. Oh, to find a GSX in this condition............

JR. You are correct. They are only original once, but this car would not have made me happy to have kept it that way and not restore it if it were mine. There is quite a bit of "updating" that just needs done. It sure has it's share of imperfections. They call that "Patina" don't they?
