Finally getting to enjoy my ol' regal after putting in the Coan tranny and new flywheel. It's kinda nice not having to worry about breaking a starter!
Automotive Machine & Performance did my machine work, they estimated it at 525 hp, but I have never had it on a dyno. It was balanced and blueprinted, oil mods, bored .30 and I have their Stage 1 heads on it. The Coan trany and stall really brought it to life. I still need to install my posi, find some upper door panels and she will be pretty much complete!
how? i was always wondering how do you put a 455 in a regal.that seems like a fun project.does anyone make kits for it?
I got most of my stuff(headers, mounting brackets etc) from Postons. A lot of other people also use TA Performance stuff. Wasn't to bad of a fit, had to do a little grinding on my right lower A-frame to make the header fit. Other than that it wasn't to bad of a job. The car had been my daily driver since I was 17(1990), way back in high school. After college I just couldn't part with the ol' buick so I held on to it and fixed it up. Hopefully I can hold onto it for life!
