Hi My Electra is finally painted. I am sorry for the bad pictures, I will shot some better pictures another day.
And...curious about your car... Is it a '76? If so, how did you manage the "closed quarters", ie the elimination of the opera window in the c-pillar? It is an interesting look; sort of a 1974 silhouette with a 1976 front clip, side trim and tail lights. Thanks in advance, Steve.
It's a model year 1976 for sure, but I also noticed the lack of the opera windows. Maybe someone replaced the vinyl roof ? How does the C-pillar area look from the inside of the car ? I like the new colour, but hey: Blue with a white roof always looks great :TU:
It's a 76, but I didn't like the opera windows, so I removed them. The color is blue brilliant, a 05 Chrysler color, I think. The lower parts of the doors, the dash and inner roof is also upholstered.
Thanks for the positive feedback. The best thing about the renovation, was to get the armrest's and the dash recovered. It's much more fun to use the car now. I have fixed and selled a lot of American cars during my life. But this one I will never sell, It's a part of me now. After all I bought it in the USA and travelled around in it for a month over there and had a great time. This is the best car I ever have had, I am enyoing every minute,I am driving it.:3gears: Here is a picture of how it looked like, when I bought in Missouri in May 2005.
Some newer pictures of the Electra, that were shot this weekend. Our local club arranged a American car meeting., All pictures from the meeting here. http://www.amcarforum.no/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1969
A couple of days ago I mounted a new Vinyl top on my Electra. A silver one this time, I think it ggoes good with the color and Chrome.
Thanks I was a little bit afraid that it would look to much like a pimp mobile:grin: , but I think it suits the car well.
