Just wanted to say hi, and proudly tell all about my new purchase. I just bought myself a 1964 Buick LeSabre. It's not much of a picture.. I'll get some better ones later...

It used to be my across-the-street neighbor's car, and I have been eyeing it for 4 years, and now It's all mine. It's kinda the econo-model, a 300 2bbl engine, only has 69k original miles. Everything runs great, but the carb needs rebuilt (a first for me, and it sounds like some fun).

My father-in-law does hot-rods for a living, so he's got a full body shop with all the plasma cutters, tig welders, paint booth, etc... so I've got some resources. And for those stock type people... cover your ears, I'm trying to decide.. put a big displacement engine in it, new drivetrain, and go for a sleeper-hotrod. Or.. just pretty it up, pinstripes and scallops, airbags and go Kustom.

All I can say is that I'll enjoy driving it around till I have enough money to do anything, she's cool enough as she is.

    Welcome to the board lonlaz!:beer

I don't think you'll find anyone here that is going to flame you for wanting to put a bigger powerplant in that LeSabre...not on here anyway:grin: Go for it! We all encourage and accept everyone's choices of what THEY want to do with THEIR cars....

Except for the people making fun of my Spokes:grin:

Don't worry guys....you'll have your road wheels in a few weeks if all goes well:bglasses:
