My name is Dean, Just became a member of the board yesterday. I have surfed the net for a few years on buick info, it looks like you can find all the info you need right here! When I was 18 I got my first Buick GS - I was HOOKED. A few years later I sold it. When I was 37, bought my 70 GS455. Started a frame off restoration, project has sat on the back burner for a while now. Last spring I bought a 70 GSX with hopes of getting her put back togather someday. I've already talked to a few of the members outside of the board (GSXNUT, Duane) Which have been very helpful. Hope to get to know some more of you folks.

No, they are two different cars: 1 in primer on trailer is a GS455 That I started woking on about 5 yrs ago (stopped working on about 3 yrs ago - family obligations). The other is a GSX I bought last year with 60,000 on the odometer, but has been tore apart for about 30yrs. Someday hope to get her running again. With the cost of things it may take awhile.

The 1970 GS455 had 102,000 miles on it. The car was in pieces when I bought it. I tore it down to the frame, painted, and replaced bushings, ball joints ect. Then moved on to the body - Replaced both quarters and fixed rust areas the best it could. This car was burnished saddle with a cream colored top, will restore the same color but with black top. The motor is a numbers matching 455 (rebuilt and ready to go) with numbers BA tranny needing to be rebuilt. Thats as far as I have got on that one. When finished should look like the pic of LARRYSGS.

Then I started building my Toy shop or as my brother calls it "The Garage-ma-hall". The shop has consumed most of my spare time, evenings and weekends, building most of it myself. Then comes along 1970 GSX. I call it once in a lifetime deal as explained to my bride. The car originally came from florida. About 30 yrs ago came to North Dakota with just over 60,000 miles on it. Was taken apart because of motor problems and never put back togather. The car as seen in pics is a QQ, Stage1, Automatic, A/C,
with OO rearend. Hope that gives enough info.

Hey another Buick guy in North Dakota! How long have you had the GSX? Some kid at the Sabin track told me he knew of a GSX that his friend was trying to buy last summer.

    Great garage and cars!:TU:

    Ed,

I bought the GSX around april, was not advertised. I know of another GSX in Fargo That is fully restored, Have not seen it yet but the my engine rebuilders friend owns it. Have been waiting to see it. Has been out a few times last year to a local cruise night, but being 80 miles north I don't get to see it when its out. But someday.

Dean, Did you have you engine built in Grand Forks or Fargo. (Quality Engine?)

Here is a picture of the GSX in town that Quality Engine rebuilt the engine when it spun a bearing.

He drives it in the RAIN!

Heres a few pictures from last summer in this link.

    ED,

I did have it rebuilt at Quality Engine in Fargo, and yes that sounds like the same car, but you say he drive it in the rain???? When I herd about the car it sounds like it spent alot of time in the garage ( not driven very much). Well its his car. Thanks for the pics.

Dean it was raining that day at the car show but he still had it out there.

Did you know that one of the machinist at Quality has a brother that owned a 70 Stage 1 until this week? I guess he just sold to a guy in Wadena.

    Ed,

I did not know that, was it a nice car? Why did he sell it? I'm looking at a 70 stage 1 but he's not interested in selling it yet. I've asked him to let me know when the time to sell comes. Hopefully he remembers. I found a 71 gs in the trees thats pretty hashed out but has some usable parts on it, but owner said wait until spring. If it comes through I'll have to find a spot to put these. If you run across any sport mirrors or front spoiler for a 70, let me know, mine are missing.
