:TU: I'm new to this site as well. Very informative and entertaining!! I'm buying a '62 LeSabre 4 dr. sedan soon and can't wait to start on it. My first Buick!! A 4/5 condition wise but is complete and runs well. 67,000 original miles. Sorry, no pics yet. Will post one soon though. Excited, for sure!! Any advice from senior members??

    Welcome aboard! :TU:

    Advice?

    1) Participate in as many threads as you can.
    2) Sign your posts with your first name (so we can respond to you by name - adds friendliness).
    3) Don't be shy to ask a question - no matter how silly it seems.
    4) Post some pics of your ride.
    5) Check back every day (or every hour as most of us do  ) and click on the "View New Posts" link - that way you keep up with all the conversations that are happening while you where away.
    6) Join the BPG!!
    7) Offer advice where you have experience.
    8) Be prepared to joke around every now and then.
    9) Drive your Buick as often as possible (we need the exposure).
    10) Participate at events
    11) Support the vendors that support our interests.

The rest you'll pick up as you go along. What you need to remember is that this is THE site for owners of V8Buicks. No if's, but's or maybe's. If you have a question about your car, the chances of you getting the information that you need are better here than anywhere else on the 'net. I know, I've looked. This is without a doubt the most active board in the Buick world at the moment.

    Welcome!
Not much to say after the Sage advice of Bill (Buickstreet). :TU:
I'm an oddball in here as the only thing Buick I own is a 455 and Bellhousing, but I still make an impression on the "Other" GM guys in my hobby.
    Good luck in your endeavors!

    Hey Bill-

Great Advice! I think I'll take it myself! Hey, I'm responding to this post, so that covers #1 anyway. And I do check every hour, or sooner...

Coolness, a '62 Buick with 67kmi is a very sweet ride indeed! Hopefully, it was reasonably well cared for. If it wasn't, well, this is the place to be to make it its best. It seems Buicks don't get their proper respect from an aftermarket perspective, but you can be sure that your ride will get plenty of praise here!

    Post some pics...

Thanks for the advice and encouragement!! It will be a lot of work and $$ but it will be worth it. It will be a sweet ride. My wife wants to call it the "Widowmaker" 'cause I'll be working on it all the time!! This '62 was traded in (no kidding!) at a GMC dealership 4 years ago. They gave him $900 for it!! I'm scrounging cash to pay for it a little at a time. Went and tried to start it today but to no avail. Very cold today and the gas in it is old for sure. Did have it running a couple months ago when it was warmer. Runs well. Should have in my poss. in a couple of months. Took some pics today and will post them as soon as I can. I think I've found a "Buick home" here. Glad to be a part of the family. :)

    Dennis,

I don't know how close in body style the 63 Wildcat and 62 LeSabres are, but there is a post about ome of the members parting out a 63 Wildcat.

    http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8497

He was originally going to sell the car for $550, but has decided to part it out.

    Adam,

Not sure about compatibilty beween the LeSabre and Wildcat. Thanks for the info though. I'm sure I'll be looking for parts soon. I bet you love your Buicks. I used to be an "old Chevy" man (still like them) but now can't wait to get my '62 underway. Thanks.

When you get bit by the Buick bug, you don't turn back:cool:

Because there's no reason TO go back.
