  1. Hello all, just signed on here today. Looks like a lot of good information on here. I live in northern Alberta, Canada. Bought 2 63 Wildcat coupes this past spring. 1 to restore and the other for parts.

    Welcome!

    Whereabouts in northern Alberta?
I'm located in Sherwood Park near Edmonton. The 63 Wildcat is a nice car; would love to see pictures. I have a 67 Wildcat, and have owned quite a few others over the years.

  4. Thanks guys.
Marc, I'm north of Grande Prairie about 120 km. Near a small town called Hines Creek.
The parts cars pretty rusty, mostly complete. It has a 401 in it.
The one I'm going to restore is complete. It runs and drives. I just found out it has a 425 nailhead.
I'm just trying to finish up my shop before I start on it.
I'll try to post some pictures. The yellow shag rug makes an interesting colour com
I can't seem to upload a picture of the part car but I'll keep trying.

The dark car looks like a nice builder; - there's a lot to work with. 425 is a nice option too, I think that was the first year for them. You didn't by chance buy it from a guy just outside of Gibbons did you? I seem to recall there was one for sale there sometime last year. Yeah, the yellow shag is something else; - reminds me of the crap we had in the house when I grew up...

Always thought the 61 Pontiac was the prettiest out of the 61 model year from GM. What did it originally have in it? Was it a 6 with a 3 on the tree or were you lucky enough to have had a 283 and a powerglide?

Sorry; - didn't mean to sound condescending or anything; - we get so many people on this forum who haven't the first clue of what they've got; - it's too easy to paint everyone with the same brush. Sorry about that...

So you've been playing around in the business since 1979; - I've been doing it since 1980. You're lucky; - you got the ticket, when I came out of high school in 1982 there wasn't a shop around looking for an apprentice, so I never got the ticket, so I'm just a completely self-taught Buick guy. Well, I learned with SBC, can still tear one of those down in my sleep, and then as a challenge took on Mercedes Benz. What junk; I'll stick with a Buick engine any day of the week.

That said, you might be able to help me out with an old machine I bought a while ago, one I've been dreaming about since the mid 80s, I bought a Bear tune up machine, the professional model, the dang thing is 6 feet tall and still all works. Put the Electra on it and I think I got it dialed in right but, there's a tests and things I'm not sure about. I'd have to get the book out and re-read it again. Did you ever use one of these things?
