    Hi,

How did you get a "New" M-22 or is it just new to you?

or is it a new Autogear version one, if so then its Pass side.

Muncies had both driver and pass side one's not sure what dictated which configuration.

    Regards,

Yes it's a "new" autogear M22 I'm ordering it this afternoon, I tossed around the whole 4 speed 5 speed decision and I'm going with the 4 speed. They call it an M22W w/26/32 splines with 2:56 1st gear, hopefully will work well with my 3:42 rear 27" tire. I had purchased all the 4 speed "goodies" from a boardmember a while back now Im putting it all together, thanks,Tom

Original Buick Muncie 4 speeds where on the passenger side. The cable attached to two of the big belhousing bolts with clips if no side adapter was used. If the side adapter was used only one clip was used.

Cool you should be very happy with it, I am running an AutoGear M22W in my 65 with 3.55 rear and it is a fun car, trans has a slight whine to it thru 1, 2 and 3 (low helix cut gears), but not enough to be annoying, got about 10,000 mile and no issues shifts great even power shifting, much nicer than the 2 wore out muncies I was running, also you should be happy with the wide ratio as original M22 muncies were all close ratios (2.20 first gear) and have heard several people change to a wide ratio trans especially on the street

Speedo cable you may be able to use your stock auto cable as I did on mine with no issues

    good luck with the project

    Hi,

No pictures or how I have the cable routed, but if memory serves go over the top of the trans and down the pass side, as long as its long enough and you dont kink it, should be fine

trans works great, one of the better investements I have made.

    Regards,
