Well, this is a first for me and I have to say im enjoying it - apart from the grinding back of the welds. 2" primaries 4" collector
I'm loving the whole package so far. Pretty soon it'll be time to cash in some frequent flyer miles so I can go for a ride! Been to Melbourne, but not yet to Sydney! Devon
I will weld a take-off on the side of the collector and take the exhaust back under the car and exit out back. I have caping plates to bolt on the end of the collectors.
Yeah nice one guys. I have finished 1 side completely now I have the harder task of matching it. Atleast when I cut the pipes for the first side I cut in pairs for the other side as all the cuts are at 90' to the pipe. Once ive finished the second side then its off to get them Jet-hot coated. Cheers Royden
Royden, don't worry about mirroring the headers unless you're planning to get some photos published side by side. Otherwise, we can't see both sides at once! And if anyone has the nerve to comment about any asymmetry, tell them it's due to extensive research into the particulars of exhaust pulse tuning, and that the details of said research are certainly classified. Devon
I hear ya. I have to say that from the front the headers are going to look f^&king tough man. They sorta dominate the front end of the car even though there has been some interest in the manifold. Booked youre ticket yet:TU: :beers2:
Devon, i got a bit carried away with Mike T on the phone this morning.:Brow: :Brow: I am now going 4.5" bore and 4.5" stroke to give me 572cui. Cheers Royden
Great headers. Did you use the tubes from a kit, or did you bend them yourself? How did you calculate the length and diameter for optimum performance, and what attributes did you go for?
I bought header kit which consists of 10 x 180' bends or 'U', 4 x 90' elbows and the collectors. Apart from visual, nothing else really determined the outcome. Cheers Royden
