New car music options for low tech kinda guy?

Okay, I understand Bluetooth so not totally in the weeds.

I want to utilize aftermarket old school mounted speakers but have some kind of solid, permanent mount “transmitter” that can be out of site to drive the speakers.

I’d love to get Pandora but I refuse to pay over $200 a year for their service (if they cut that price down they could sell tons of subscriptions IMHO).

    Main goals are:

    1. Maintain factory radio look.

    2. Get music with limited commercials that I can have input on what’s playing.

Obviously it would be nice for my car to actually run but I wanted to study up on the options on the days I cannot put hands on the car & start accumulating what is needed.

Thanks in advance for any initial thoughts.

I paid $15.00 Can for a Bluetooth stereo with 32 gig SD, AUX in For my Zune, yes, I bought a Zune to play with), Steering wheel control, remote control and FM radio (No AM, but we don't have any AM station here). It doesn't have the capabilities to play CD's, but hey, my iPod has 128 Gig of classic rock, new wave, folk, blues, country, kids, soundtracks, comedy (Heyyy Abbott...). I built a wooden console to hold it with a dual cup holder and a 4 position 12 Volt/ 1 USB connection. Total cost for this was under $50 Canadian.

I have Spotify. It's better than Pandora and still free with limited commercials

If you already have an FM radio in your car, you can get a FM Bluetooth transmitter to connect a phone, MP3 player, or sd card to it. You simply 'tune' your radio to the transmitters 'station' to connect. Plugs into the cig lighter for power.
This one from Amazon was only $18. Easy to move from car to car.

Don't know what your budget is but you can get your factory radio upgraded with all the latest tech. And it will look exactly the same.

I have something similar to this in 2 cars. Works great, just gotta find a clear space on the radio dial. Also has a mic for calls, but mine has poor pick-up quality. But calls and music sound fine.

Thank you very much guys! Not sure why I’m not getting new message alerts but just saw I had more posts looking under “new posts” heading on the board.
Thank you very much for all the cool ideas!
