Ok. This is peaking my interest. I don't understand the fitment. I have a run of the mill 82 V6. Will this work? Early thread reply indicated "on center".
Interestingly, that manifold does not show up in the V6 St1 / St2 parts offering. It must be for NASCAR or some special application, as, the St1 (25512236) and St2 (25500029) are both listed in the literature pictured. Published in 1983. Note that in this literature the St2 block has the pt. # 25500017.
On center means the bores were centered over the rod journals on the crank. Production V6 blocks are off center, and the rods are machined accordingly. This manifold will fit an on center Buick motorsports 4.1 block or the T/A on center V6 block with Buick stage 2 heads.
try to find a nascar busch stage 2 engine that were made in the 90's. they had to make hundreds of them. they all disappeared. pieces parts around, but engines, no. the on center blocks require a bunch different parts than the std v6. you have nice door stop or christmas present
father/son bought a shirley muldowny rear dragster. they built a twin engine red with buick stg 2's on NITRO. they had problems with the coupler breaking. wonder why. nitro engines do not idle like a gas. they are from calif. i know a guy that has some of the parts for sale. i passed on it.
At the time I bought this I was working at the gm dealer that day enterprise was buying all there bush grand national engine parts from. This was the last one we had in stock. I just thought it was cool.
last time i got a glimpse of a busch v6, they wanted new car prices and pay for their great grandchildren college. do you remember any of the teams? just maybe.....
Wayne Day had Jeff green driving his Busch car and was supplying a lot of teams with the Buick motors.
