Hi I just bought a 1964 Buick special four door v8. I have a few questions that I would like help on

What is the differince between this model and the skylark I have noticed they are both A bodies and when I search for info for the Special model .....info for the skylark appears.

    2. Does anybody know if this model had any wheel options or just the stock hubcaps? I have seen a few of the 1964 models on the web with 5 spoke wheels that may be the GS type wheel ..( I am guessing )

One more thing I need door panels or door panel templates and front turning light plastic frames can anybody help out with this?

The car came complete except these things it is in VG condition running condition and I want to complete the car

    Thanks for your help

    Welcome aboard!:beer

Congratulations on your new Buick! You're going to have lots of fun with it...and probably spend lots of money, if you're not careful:laugh:

Ok, the Special (I believe) is basically an inexpensive Skylark. I don't know what the option differences were, although there are a few people on this board that DO know.

If you want to find parts for your car, post ads in the "Parts Wanted" forum at the bottom of the main page. Also, Year One makes nice door panels, but they're $$$.

I think OPGI makes them also. I have an electronic catalog in .pdf form. If you want a copy, I'll load it onto my site and let you download it from there.

Both of these companies have LOTS of parts for 64-72 Skylark/GS...or Special in your case. Most of the parts will interchange...the only real differences were trim options.

Adam is pretty much correct about the "Special". My 64 Service manual is for "Special", "Special Deluxe" and "Skylark".
Just different trim levels with the Skylark being the top of the line. Year One only lists interior trim for 2 door and convertible models but most mechanical parts should be the same.

Don't know if The "rallye" style wheel was an option on the "Special " in 1964 but who cares? Get a set and put them on and the car will look much better!

Enjoy your Buick and welcome to the board!
