Board member Leviathan (Cliff) visited the Netherlands back in 2005 and he was surprised
by the large number of Buicks (and American cars in general) at the many car shows we have during the season:

Here is an agenda with a lot of cars shows in the Netherlands and Belgium: CLICK HERE :Comp:

This coming weekend (May 20-22) we have ten car shows to choose from.
Good thing is that a car show in the Netherlands is never over 100 miles away if you live somewhere in the centre of the country :TU:

Hi Rene, greetings from Germany. I remember 2 Boattails here in Cologne way back in the early 90's but they disappeared :Do No: Nowadays it's kinda Buick-free-zone here. With one exception...
    Welcome.

I know about this bloke that owns two Boattails (1971 and 1973 model years), he lives in Pulheim.
Check with the Buick Club of Germany, there are quite a few Buicks in your area :Smarty:
(maybe you just don't see them out on the streets)

Or register at the Ami Forum and/or US-Car Forum if you want to meet Buick owners in the greater Kln area :TU:

Thanks@Erik. Maybe I really don't see them because I love cruising in the city. Most people living outside of Cologne rather avoid this.

    Heyheyhey!

Well it's great to hear about europe having alot of buicks, I thought they where parked at every corner in the US but appairently not, sorry for beein a dumbass. Guess it was all those pimps and gipsys that imported the big amaricans. About the VIN I'll come back to you, though it probably is a 72, I thought it was, but then the seller insisted on it being 71 and new bumper. ANYWAYS I dont mind to much seen as though I love this bumper with its badass tusks.
Will check out those prophane conversions, thankyou very very much, though there are a few drawbacks, I'm only mentioning this because I read that website for building your own instalation and it states theres no drawbacks, but there definatly are quite a few drawbacks and one of the main drawbacks is the big loss of power.
I come in pulheim quite alot, never spoted them though, will look around for them.
Not sure I replyd to everything, but I am thankfull for the big response, I am learning alot and verry quickly because of you guys!
    Thanks!!

With a good LPG conversion (big mixer (Impco 425), mounted directly to the lower plate of your carburettor, upgrated ignition & spark plug wires and an 8 mm fuel line) you will gain horsepower instead of losing it.
But this means that you have to give up running the engine on petrol by just the flick of a switch....

Ask your fellow country man/v8buick board member "bronze boattail" (Bart) about this.
(he owns a model year 1971 Boattail with a model year 1972 bumper  )

Bart used to run the "Belgian Buick Club", but I'm not sure if this club still exists ?

Thankyou very much for your aid. I have nearly everything figured out one exterious interiour etc. Just still need to figure out the correct engine setup. hello rene, greetings from belgium. i have sent you a pm:)

one thing , dont believe that it is possible to run your car on lpg and gasoline,
it will run good on lpg and bad on gasoline or reverse.
lpg needs an other timing, the lpg carb will also block the air if you switch over to gasoline.

if you have the wright lpg system in your gasguzzler you wil never want to drive on gasoline anymore. it runs way more smooth on lpg, and its more than half cheaper.
it was my first idea to drive on both , but believe me, keep gasoline as an emergancy fuel to bring you to the nearest lpg station.
the stock engine in good condition (in combination with a nice shifting transmission) has enough power to play with, even on lpg.

check out my tornado system by iwema (google for more info)

Just get rid of all the petrol stuff, it's been 15 years since I last drove on petrol.
Use the lower valve plate of the Quadrajet, mount the Impco 425 right on top of it.
This will eliminate the need for the LPG mixture to travel all the way through that long snorkel (as shown in Bart's image above)

When you use the method above, you still can use the stock air cleaner housing.
Check out this thread by board member "DUTCH WILDCAT" (Wilfred) and his 425 mixer set-up on a Nailhead.

ok, i know, the normal arms give restriction,
the tornadoarm i have is wider,
and i wanted to keep my gasoline system up and running, i had invested in a rebuild quadrajet ,
second reason, if u run out on lpg in belgium , it can be difficult to find a gasstation who sells lpg . on sundays when the station shops are closed they lock there lpg pump,,so taking lpg on sunday can be difficult. i have been running out on lpg twice.

an other reason, once my msd cap and rotor went bad, i could not drive anymore on lpg,,but running on gasoline was still possible and the buick took me home.

iff your system is up and running , i would keep it that way,,if for some reason you have to sell your car it has more value if running on both.
