2 months ago, I sent this guy $130 for a console including shipping. I got one E mail from him 2 weeks after I sent the money saying he would ship the next day and E mail me the tracking number. Nothing. I have sent him 5 or 6 E mails in the last 2 months. Nothing. I paged him on the Bench forum. Nothing. I sent him a letter last week. Nothing. Anyone else have problems with this guy? He's ruining the 100% positive luck I've always had with Buick people.

Well, now that I decided to post this info, guess what came in the mail today? Maybe I should have posted this a month ago! Thanks, Jim!

    hmmmm

Jim: What am I missing here? I don't hear from you for MONTHS and you make this sound like MY fault? If I was going out of town for two months and had some unfinished business I would at least have the courtesy to send an E mail or post something on the board about being out of town. I would think that in two months you could have found 3 minutes somewhere to do this. This makes absolutely no sense to me.

If i could add my .02....Once again a lack of communication has led to animosity between two well respected board members. Guys, I think we need to do a better job of talking to one another. Im sure John has no hard feelings towards you. From what I gather, he just didnt know what was going on.

When a person sells an item, it should be shipped as soon as possible unless other arrangements are made. That is just common courtesy! There is no excuse for not making every effort to keep in contact with the buyer. If you are so busy you can't get to it right away, then post upfront there may be shipping delays so the buyer is aware of it up front. But what I don't understand is why you, Jim Walker, blast the whole board just because of a problem with ONE transaction. I don't know either of you, but I took that as an insult when you say you "don't care if you help anyone out on this board again". You make it sound like you are doing us a "favor" by offering your advice! In my opinion, John Walker, you owe this board an apology for that rant. I will wait and see what kind of an answer you have to my post. That will determine what kind of a person you really are. If your response is similar to your post, you will have no credibility with me, and I am sure others. This post is NOT an attack on you, and I am not taking sides. I just don't understand why you would post those kind of comments, when the issue is only between you and the buyer. I hope you were just a little hot headed when you posted. Peace to all........

A couple months ago I bought an SP1 intake from you. After a few weeks I too was missing the part and later found out that you were called out of town for work and would ship it ASAP, which you did. I am still in S. Korea, so it was no big deal. But had I been home waiting for the part then it may have been different. I think what everybody is trying to say is you should tell us if the parts are going to be shipped late. Thats all. I never met you before, but I do thank you for the intake and hope that you will still give us the opportunity to get first dibs on your parts. If not you could always give me the info on the parts first, then I will pass it on to the board :Brow:

Jim, sorry to say you are wrong on this one and if you sell on Ebay and do what you did here you will not have a very good feedback score, AL.

Just to set the record straight, the only reason I jumped in on this one was I had the same thing happen to me on EBay last fall. I won the auction, paid right after it ended via PayPal, and no part and no replys to my emails for almost two months. Finally, out of nowhere he sends an email telling me he will get it shipped. I got it about 2 weeks later. It was only a 20 dollar part, but I was quite perturbed anyway. So it can happen anywhere......

Sorry to say but if I pay for a part and it doesn't show up even a week or two later I'm gonna think I got ripped off. Unless it was agreed upon that in advance that it may take a while to ship.

Jim maybe in the future you could state to the buyer that due to the nature of your job you may get called out of town unexpectedly and you will try to ship or notify as soon as posible if this happens. That way at least the buyer is aware of the situation and won't think he is being ripped off.

    Got Nuts

    Jim,
I've got nuts. I'll step in and reply. While I think you've clearly demonstrated your short comings already, I think people on here have the right to know your also a dead beat buyer, which I find just as bad if not worse. You left me hanging on the quarter panels after I went into town with them to get an estimate from Greyhound. That upsets me. Here is the last PM I got from Jim and you can hear the excuses for yourselves.

"Brian, yes I would still like them and shipping price is good! It will take me a couple more weeks to send you the money. Do you have paypal? Sorry for not getting back with you sooned [his sp]. Been sick as a DOG!!!"

Hmm, kind of sounds like Jake Blues in the tunnel, "An old friend came in from out of town, my tux didn't come back from the cleaners, locustsssssss!"

After sending Jim another PM, I didn't get a response for the better part of a month and put them back on V8. While I have a life- 2 jobs, wife, 3 kids, 4 bedroom house, 3 cars, etc, I find time for the hobby I love. It is enjoyable when people can be nice to each other and live up to their words. Thank you John for starting the thread!

Jim, you shouldn't take these as personal attacks when they are obviously just the facts. I would agree with you on one thing. Ebay does seem to work out better for some reason. I suppose all the rules help.

Actually, I 've had a lot better luck buying and selling to people on the Board! I pay immediately and the seller always ships it to me quickly. When I sell, I always ship immediately and contact the buyer several times during the process to keep them updated. You know, the person may really need that part right away. After your answer to my first post, I expected a sarcastic answer like " sorry I didn't put Mr Collector first in my world". If you don't have time, don't waste other peoples time trying to figure out what the problem is with their transaction. Good luck on Ebay, A couple of deals like these posted here, and you won't have to worry about finding time, no one will deal with you after all the negative feedback. It's a shame you feel the way you do, I really believe you think that 2 months isn't a big deal. From the other posts, it sounds like you have a pattern going on here. I don't have anything against you , John. I just wish you would look at some of the comments again, and try to understand why people are upset with your dealings. The main reason I have had so much good luck here, is that the people are usually first class to deal with. I'm sure you must have felt that way at some time, or you wouldn't be here in the first place. Sarcastic answers are not going to endear you to anyone. Remember, the Buick community is a pretty tight one, and there are alot of Mopar people and others that frequent this Board. Burning your bridges in one place may very well be noticed by others. If you respond anymore to this, please think before you post. Just as anyone of us, anything you post here is a reflection of you. Regardless of what the post was that started this thread, having an attitude of the hell with you guys, is going to make those who read it think that you really don't care, and that makes negative posts look pretty credible. I don't mean to highjack anyone's thread here, but have any of you fellow board members had a problem getting parts from a member by the name of
    N-25?
