Well now that I've got my new 455 Regal theres a few things I'd like to do to it. Currently it doesn't have an alternator hooked up and did not come with an air cleaner. Can anyone post a few pics of how you have your alternator assembly set-up? I need the bracket and related hardware to mount the alternator but I'd like to see a pic or two before I go to the salvage yards looking for what I need. Btw my block is a '75 and the heads are '70 if that matters. Also what size air cleaners are you guys running? There doesn't seem to be much room under the stock hood.
i have brackets from a 76 lesabre, the alternator went on no problem, the ac brackets need some adjustments, my air cleaner is a 4 inch tall on a drop base cleaner, if you need more pics i have brackets in the garage that are not on a car right now, just let me know, i'm sure others will post also, Jon
here is a pic of alternator bracket and top ac bracket, not sure what year they are, i didn't mention that i have a hole cut in my hood for air cleaner clearance and have a 2 inch plastic cowl from summit screwed to the hood, i think that with a 3 inch air filter and if i removed my 1 inch carb spacer and insulating gaskets i would be very close to using the stock flat hood , might have to remove some of the bracing, not sure though, Jon
Thanks Jon I appreciate the pics! As they say a picture is worth a thousand words:grin: The hunt is on now.
