Need some MSD Ignition setup opinions

I am to the point that I need to install my MSD ignition system so I can fire up my racecar project and I have a couple questions I would like a second opinion on.
First, My ignition is a MSD 6 AL that I had in my 71 car. I also have a 2 step(PN 8739) to operate the line lock. I recently purchased an adjustable rpm selector(PN 8671)so I can eliminate the module chips. For now,I have an accel converted distributor that I will have to use. I will at a later time either get a Billet distributor or even get an Ignition man conversion. I also will be using an 8200 MSD coil with this setup. I know how to hook up the wiring from the box(big red, black magnetic connector wire etc),but am needing some assistance with the 2 step and adjustable rpm switch. I have a line lock(B&M) and shift light(5340) as well as an Autometer tach(3900),but man, the wiring seems endless and I don't want to kill anything.

As far as I can tell I need to hook the 2 step up like this...Black to ground, red to line lock then the wire from the line lock to a 12v source.Black from linelock to ground, then the 2 prong plug into the 6AL box.

Do I need to plug the chip(module into module 1) for the line lock? I want to put something like 3500 RPM module in it for burnouts.

Then, will I have to hook the adjustable Rpm switch 2 prong plug into my 2 step?Into module 2 spot?
Now comes the good part...Can I hook both of the tach and shift light green wires together and then plug the end into the MSD box with out hurting anything? I believe I did this on my 71 and it was ok. The instructions are all over the place on the hookups. Can anyone verify what I am about to do wont totally fry me or my car??
    Thanks,Pat

    Pat,
You can hook more than one thing to the tach output of the 6AL, but I believe you might need an RPM activated switch depending on which shift light you have. I have a MSD wiring and Tech book. This is from the book. Does it help?

That helps Larry...Do you think the 3500 module will be enough for the burnout proess?? Thats my biggest worry..

I have my 2ndary rev limiter on the MSD Digital 6 hooked to my Line lock. I have it set at 4000. I haven't hit it yet. Then again the Drag Radials don't need much of a burnout especially after the first good one.

Looks good, splicing the two step activation into either the line lock activation of the light output if you have one.

I might be confused on this now.

I was planning on using a two step ignition system for my car.

Only difference between my idea and yours, i was going to put the two step activator on a toggle switch so i could do the line locks, burn out, and then stage at the line, put on the line locks and the toggle switch to activate the 2-step, and have the chip in that position to a pre-tested :Brow: position just before where i will burn out.

With this i was planning on just burning out witht he standard 6800+- module, obviously not bringing it that high in the bleach box, then staging at the line, turning the 2-step on with the line locks, flooring it just before the tree starts and letting it govern and just letting go of the line locks which would turn off the line locks and the lower 2 step and put me on my merry way to the finish line.

    Sound right, or wrong?
