Is this for an 8.2 or an 8.5? I do have a set of 3.08 from a '72 8.5 I'd be willing to let go. $50 plus shipping from 55803. If you're interested I'll weigh the box and see how heavy it is.
It is going to be a long, long look. I think 3.08 was a stock ratio for the 8.5" ring a/k/a the so called post 70 GM corporate rear.. In the 8.2" ring gear ( US Buick 68-70) as I recall they were 2.56, 2.73, 2.93, 3.23, 3.42, 3.64... 4.78 ratios.
3.23 ratios would would be most often found in GS 350s and wagons, 68-70. I should add that the wagons would be 9 3/8 and will not fit a skylark.
Thanks Jim for the info. Using the gear ratio/RPM chart that seems to be the best combo for what we will be using the car for. Do you know this info from experience or is it published somewhere? Anybody have a set of 3.23 that they want to sell???
