well I guess that kinda says it all. Trying to get an idea if what I have in mind for a custom will work out. Thanks!! :TU:
That's great Erik! Thanks. That helps!! But I really need some good side pics to start playing around w/ some designs/illus. for a (what I think) really , really cool-lookin' ride ( I think )
Re: Need pics of 50's side trim please..Project "Riv-Rod" Louie thanks man!!! Sweet lookin' ride!:TU: I guess I should explain more. The trim I need is the swoopy kind lond-arcing down before abruptly rising up over the rear wheel well. I have had nothing to do but stare and contemplate which way to go w/ the "RIV-ROD" , a '71 Riv done up like an old-school car. Although the door-line gaps will need to be welded and recut on the older spear, I think it would look kick-ass. The '71's still use that style albeit a much more narrow and black rubber (and not the wider chromed that I'm lookin' for) one. I don't think anyone has done this yet, but sittin on top some suade black would look sweeeeet. steel wheels, small chrome caps w/ beauty rings and wide whites and of course copious amounts of striping.:TU: Measurements front to rear would be helpful too!!:beer BTW A mid 50's Buick anything is on my (short) wish list. Many thanks!!!!
Re: Need pics of 50's side trim please...project "Riv-Rod" maybe something like this,http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/coll...213497012QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150213497012 Or this one. which just happens to have primer. Here are a couple pictures. The front fender chrome is 41" the door is 473/4" and the piece behind the door edge is 23" front to back. Hope this is what you are looking for:TU: Bob H.
Bob, The piece directly behind the door that swoops down- is this connected to the part along the rear wheel well? I think I've seen it w/ out that part. But there is soooo many Buick styles. Thank you and yes that is on version I'm thinking of. The other swoops up and goes back. But can't keep the models straight. Thanks a bunch!!!!!:beer BTW whadda think about the idea?:idea2:
Thanks Mark, That's some nice Buicks. I really need some side pics so I can manipulate them and try to start some illustrations..:TU:
I thought you only meant 1950 model year Buicks ou: Here are a few photos by yours truly: Click thumbnails :Comp:
Thanks Eric, That's a lot of old American iron you have over there! Next time I'm in the Netherlands I'll have to try to coincide it w/ a Buick meeting!!:beer
