Hi Guys, Local friend of mine, with a 494, had an "incident" last week at the track, which resulted in him needing 1 piston for his motor.. It's a JE Stroker piston, 4.350 bore, 1" pin, with a 1.350" compression height. This was part of a TA stroker kit, sold back in the late 90's. Ken's not registered on the board and does not really "do" the computer stuff, but he called me to see if I could track down one for him. TA did this compression height on the early JE stroker kits, after he switched over from Bill Miller pistons, but all the more recent stuff is a different compression height, so Mike does not have any broken sets he can help us out with just one piston.. we would have to order them from JE, custom, and of course, they only want to make them four at a time... Mike suggested that I post a parts wanted ad, since he says he did sell quite a few of those sets back in the day, and there may be one floating around out there. If anyone has one, or even a used set, let me know via this thread, or a PM, and I will get you in touch with Ken directly. Thanks in advance JW
Pistons and more Jim call Chris Wicker at 815-222-0315. He also has ta stage 3 heads 1.70 rockers, sp2 intake, Headers. Took out the bottom end out in just 1 hr. He liver near Rockford Il. Bracket Racer from the house of hook Bryon Ken Stasiak
Piston Jim- I have a broken up set (7 left) with that compression hieght...it is from before TA was making these kits. Might even be the 1st 494 Mike ever thought about doing. Anyways here's the deal... Mike had the pistons done and sent to me (I had the Crower rods done). I don't remember the brand on the pistons, I'll have to look tonite. Now, these pistons had the valve relief cut, then that eye brow shape laid back on top of the piston. (I know there's a term for it o No: ) Let me know if it's that style and I'll look tonite for the brand. :TU: Guy
