OK, so I'm looking around for a new oil pan. No luck yet? But if I can find one (Help plzray: ) can I upgrade from the stock 4qrt to a 5wrt pan? If so, will I need a new pickup? o No: Thanks, Dave...
Check out TA1511D. It holds an extra quart. I THINK, It only works with duel exhaust as they did away with the exhaust cross over notch out. Powder coated black with a magnetic drain plug. If you dont want black you can go with the TA1511C. Also I used my original pick up tube. http://www.taperformance.com/products.asp?cat=185
I took a second stock pan, cut the bottom part off of one and welded it to the bottom of another pan. 7 qts. I made this pan years ago when there was only like 1 available.
I'm guessing that Dave needs a small block pan for his Skylark. Here's a stock pan: http://www.1aauto.com/1A/OilPanEngi...e&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_base_api I haven't seen an aftermarket deep 350 pan in a few years. I know someone was making them, maybe Kenne-Bell. As suggested some have cut off the sump area and added sheetmetal to make a deep pan. Either way, yes you will need to fabricate a longer pickup tube if you go with a deep pan.
I'm not sure either of the one's listed above will fit my car? I have the Small Block 350, not a BB 455. Thanks, Dave...
I've been thinking about this since the 340 holds 4 quarts. How did you modify your pickup? or did you leave it the same and just draw off the top? I have to check out clearance, but I would like a little more oil reserve there.
I was just gonna say that aswell. I have an original Kenne Bell deepened pan if anyone wants a picture. No pickup with it but I can show you what one looks like. Someone on here should have a pan for this guy.
I do offer the modified 350 pan. I would need a good core in exchange. They come with a deep large capacity sump, front and rear baffles and a new oil pickup tube & screen. Price is $375 plus shipping, (with the core pan).
Steve, that's some nice 350 candy that you have there, you may want to give the heads up to the sbb people in the sbb forum.I'll keep it in mind myself, nice piece of work as always.
