Does anyone have information or round about figures on all 0f the 4-speeds used in the '70's? I have a 4-speed thats was rebuilt, I think to stronger specs not really sure, and given to me about 2 years ago from a friend for helping him set up his new shop. The guy who owned the shop before him was Dr. Nicks which was a tranny specialist. He had a '79 camaro that had a 4-speed in it, he took it out, rebuilt it and used it for about 2 weeks then decided to build an auto. Anyway, he left it to my friend when he sold the shop and like i said my friend gave it to me for my car for helping him out.
So, i havent seen the trans in two years and i cant remember exactly if ts a Muncie or not. Im starting to think now that its a T-10 Borg-warner because im pretty sure thats what the F-bodys came with, i could be wrong.

So, my question is, assuming that this trans was built to stock specs and it is a borg-warner, would it be hold up to a BBB? Could someone with some info post in order the 4-speeds from weakest to strongest assuming stock.
I tried a search and came up with nothing.

    Thanks~Vinny

A Super T-10 can hold up; maybe even better than an M-22 since that tranny still has an M21's aluminum case. There are substantial differences between a T-10 and a Super.

    Here is a little help:

Later model T-10s, even the super t-10, had an alluminum case. They started doing that sometime around 74 or so. So if that tranny is the original to the 79 Camaro its really no better than a Muncie as far as the case is concerned.

A nodular Iron billet mid-plate, nickle gears, rollizer main shaft, super T-10 will hold most things... Bit is was a smiggen to long to fit my trans tunnel, w/o trimming so I bought a super case m-21 with m22 internals. Still in the box thou :Dou:
