I can't be the only one that has done this swap and had motor mount issues!
I have a 1976 skylark that came from the factory with the 231 oddfire V6, I installed a 1968 Buick 350 into the car but I cannot find good motor mounts.
V6 mounts bolt up but make the engine lean a little to the pass. side and break easily, the ones in there now have only been in for a 100mi and are sagging so bad that the pass. side header is sitting on the control arm adjuster and the driver side header is on the motor mount.
even though this car came with a V6 or V8 it seems there was different frame pads used,( V8 mounts are to thick and won't let the engine sit lower to be able to install the through bolt, I have tried 2 different sets).
TA sells the poly mounts but both Tim and Mike can't say if they will work on my car.
Both Tim and I have tried to contact HRParts and stuff who manufacture the poly mounts but are getting no response.
I have not been able to find V8 frame pads.
Has anyone out there had this problem and found a solution?

    thanks, Keith

    hey keith
these cars came with buick 350's, so you should be able to get them at a local auto parts store. ive had a 350 in my car, but that was 20 years ago, so I cant remember what I used, but I think that even 455 mounts fit 350's?

larry is right, the v6 and the 350 mounts are the same, not the 350= 455. the holes should be there for the 350.

I purchased 2 sets of 350 mounts from 2 different suppliers and they are exactly the same, the only thing the same between 350 mounts and V6 mounts is where they bolt to the block, everything else is completely different, 350 mounts are twice as big and to thick to set low enough on the frame pads to put the center bolt through and the style is completely different.

buick installed different frame pads for the V6 and V8, the V6 mounts fit on the 350 and the V6 frame pads but the V8 mounts won't set all the way down on the V6 frame pads.

    Problem solved!
If anyone puts a 350 in place of the v6 use the v6 poly mounts, they are spendy but leveled the motor right up and pushed it back over to the DS a 1/4" so if i would have used these mounts orig. i would not of had to dimple the pass side header. Now the motor doesn't bounce all over the place and when you rev it the motor doesn't twist to the right, the whole car does!
