I just received documentation for my GSX from Wayne Roberts. The car was ordered as a demonstrator by dealer 9-252. The car was purchased out of Georgia in 1985, and I had assumed the original selling dealer was in the Atlanta area as there was a 1974 Atlanta newspaper under the rear seat when I got it home.

Most of the dealer codes I have seen are two digits followed by a dash followed by three digits, so it is possible the code should be 09-252. But this is not how Wayne shows it.

Can anyone help identify this dealer?

    Thanks

    thepartsman Back Ordered Again ?

    Sound like a dealer transfer.
    Atlanta zone is 18.
09 is the zone for parts of Kentucky, Indiana.

    May have found it.

This is not verified, but after some digging I came up with Tatone Buick in Fairborn Ohio as dealer 09-252. If anyone can confirm this, they would forever have my gratitude.

Hey Jim, how's it going? My Stage I conv. is 09-252. Tatone Buick Inc. in Fairborn is what I found also. From what I understand, there were 3 Tatone's in Fairborn, the Dad and the 2 sons. They all had dealerships of various makes and were in and out of buisiness at different times. Word is they didn't always get along and where on the shady side of the moral spectrum. I even heard one did some time in the big house. There's still one Tatone dealership still running in Fairborn, they sell some sort of ricer and can't answer anything about any Buick dealership.

Kinda wild how your X started life up here, went South and then came back.

    See you later.

    Dealer Code

    Jim,

When you posted the dealer code awhile back, I missed it completely. It is the same as my 70 GS455 convertible which you know very well. I have the Wayne Roberts documentation plus the Protect-O-Plate that shows Tatone Buick, Fairborn, Ohio. Our GS's are related!

    Take care,

    Larry
