This was in with some parts from a package deal purchase; all the other parts were Pontiac or Buick for what it's worth.

The casting number on the base is 7038406. There is a C cast in the base, which I believe indicates it is for one of the Carter-made Q-jets??? The passenger side rear flange is stamped 40688.

The bracket on the front shaft where the linkage attaches is stamped RP37260.

The primary and secondary throttle valve plates are stamped RP29895, and RP909 respectively.

Anyone able to identify the specific applications for this? Thanks!

Thanks Ken, am I correct that the "C" indicates a Q-jet made by Carter?

I am not certain one way or other about the "C", truth be told.

I have been told the circle indicates the gm division by a quadrajet hoarder. C for Chevrolet, b for Buick, etc. I have been looking at this on my builds lately and it seemed accurate. I have not found supporting material.
I agree with Ken on the early Chevy application, and many were made by Carter.

For sure it's pre-1973 Chevy, most likely 68-70 vintage, can't tell for sure without seeing the underside of it. All the Chevy TB's in that time frame are pretty much the same, the biggest differences being the linkage, there were several different styles used in those years......Cliff
