A friend of mine was just given a 1964 Wildcat 4-door. He serviced it for an elderly woman for years. As she got older, she knew of his interest in the car and called him up one day to come and pick it up. She had 4 of these cars, all well kept. He's pretty honored to have had her give him one of the cars.

The car is in good running condition, but I don't believe that the carb is original or correct for the car. I think it is a 401 Nailhead (I'm not a Nailhead guy, so I'm guessing here) with a 4 BBL. The air cleaner states "445" on the top.

What is the correct carb and can someone post a picture? Anyone know where he can get one? He really wants to keep the car all original.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

The engine would be a 401 "nailhead", (Buick used the torque spec as a number, not cu in displacement) and the correct carb would be a Carter AFB. Pictures of this set-up are available in the on-line 1966 Buick Chassis manual linked in this site.

If the carb was swapped out it would probably have been swapped out with an Edelbrock carb; - they currently make a modern version of the AFB.
