Well the install on my 70 gs convertible will be installed this weekend and I was doing early prep work. Well there is always something missing two rear tacking rail shoulder bolts. So if you have a pair can you part with them.ray:
Tacking rail????? Do you mean the anchor bolts that hold the shoulder belt anchors to the roof??? If so, those are nothing special.....5/16-18 thread
George, This bolt would be for the rear rail the is placed near the trunk. Yes, it 5/16 is the thread. but it appears that I need a 5/16 bolt with a 1/2 shoulder . The rear rail has a about 1/2 dia hole. Thanks
Ok, got it what you mean. You need the rear tacking strip mounting bolts....the ones that have a habit of falling down by the rear fenderwell. I will check my part inventory.
I have engineered a solution for you. Get the 5/16-18 bolt....need to be 1.25" long overall, thread length is 1" Go to local auto parts store and get the HELP #38374 door hinge repair kit. In it will be a brass (oil-lite) bushing that has a 1/2" od and the id will almost fit over the 5/16 bolt. Use a rat tail file to enlarge the id and you should be set. Slip on the bushing and should work perfectly!
Time and time ...George thanks for time> I was leaning that direction. Your services ... I hope can be rendered.
