My father-in-law has a 69 GTO, pretty plain car 400 3 speed. It's developed a rear seal leak and I would guess that the motor should be pulled and gaskets replaced, etc.

Not that I'll ever own this car, I'd hate to see it cobbled up. He is thinking of having his son and the son's friend replace the rear seal. Scary at best. Looking for a good mechanic that will put it back together correctly. Any shops in the area that can be trusted with this?

    Thanks,

    Rich

I'm not familiar with any Pontiac friendly shops in the Milwaukee area, but I do know there's a few guys on the Performance Years forum that live out there. You may want ask over there.

I wouldnt call them Pontiac experts but they are old school mechanics. My family and I have been taking mucle/classic cars to these guys for over 20 years and never had a problem. Most recently, I had them rebuild the orginal carb on my Wildcat and it has been flawless.
Rob has always been a "look you in the eye and shake your hand" kind of guy. His name is on the side of the building and he is there every day turning wrenches.

You cant really tell by there website, but these guys always work on classic cars.
