O.K. have a 70 Riv motor, need a good set of lifters with matching cam. Perhpas some of you have upgraded and have one you want to rid yourself of. Motor is going into a 72 LaSabre convert. time is of the essence here. Would like something better than a stock cam, but not too radical, I have several of those. Heads are midly ported stock heads, stock pistons etc. with headers. Let me know your price for cam and lifters shipped to area code 91350 ASAP. Appreciate all responses. Please email me directly at benderbrew@aol.com with your responses. Thanks again.

I have a Poston GS116 cam and lifters that I just took out of my car. Can't remember the specs offhand but you can get them from Postons website. You can have it all for the cost of shipping. Now for the disclaimer, this cams power range is 0-4200 RPMs but it does have lots of bottom end. I've run mid 13s with this cam in my Skylark.

The package is on it's way, the UPS guy picked it up while I was still there. Shipping was a little high, oversized package you know. Seems like everything I ship is an oversized package? Anyway it was $16.54, just send a check, I don't do the paypal thing. Should be there this weekend, good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Berry, I noticed you used to run the 116 cam and swapped it out. I was wondering what cam you swapped to and what you did not like about the 116 cam? How does your new cam compare to the 116 cam?

Ya Dave, we can drive all year long. It's great sitting in traffic, taking an hour to go nine miles or some'n. Typical So. Cal. Hotter than a banshee and just waiting for cars to start moving so we can get to a gas station and pay the highest prices in the US, to get home to the most overpriced housing in the nation. Ya just gotta luv it ya know. And yes you are a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, besides that, your a buick nut. Thanks again.

The car ran fine with the GS116 cam, it went a best of 13.60 with the Quadra-Jet in a 4060# Skylark. But it was out of it's power range by 4200 RPMs, when I raced just left it in drive and that's where it shifted. Problem was my original goal was 13.50 at 100MPH, so I thought a cam change would be all I needed. Put in a Straightline 226/238 I got from Jim Burek. Not really sure how much it helped because now I have discovered a highspeed miss starting about 4400RPMS, beyond what I used to run. Put new plugs in it and it pulled right through to 5300 and felt fantastic. Drove it to the strip, about 75 miles and it ran just like it did before, missing about 4400. I think the plugs fouled in that distance, got to find out whats going on.

Yeah I know about traffic, I live in a small town in IL, we don't even have a traffic light. Heck I bet you get up every morning, lean out the kitchen window and pick fresh oranges for your juice.

Yeah, you are right Dave, the 116 runs pretty well and definitely has gobs of bottom and mid range. I've actually taken that cam to 5800 RPM if I hold it in gear, but I still think about swapping it out now and then. Oddly enough, that cam(Straightline 226/238)was the one I was thinking about swapping to. When you swapped cams did you make any other changes? I know you use a QJ, what type of intake manifold? What other mods do you have? Headers? Stock heads or Stage one heads? Any head work? Whats your rear gear ratio? I try not to get to caught up in the whole cam thing because how well your heads flow have by far the biggest impact on power but in this case it might be worth the time and money to do it. Did you think it was? Thanks :)

Way cool on Dave's part to just pass it on the the Brewster for shipping only. Going fast w/class must refer to the drivers.
