First check the fuse for the top motor.

Then let's talk about the next steps which require under the best case knowledge of use of a Volt/ohm meter.

After checking the fuse check for power at the top motor while someone moves the switch. You will need to do the basics could be the fuse, switch, or motor. If you have power at the motor the motor could be bad or the pump may be stuck. Try lightly tapping on the motor with the switch activated.
    Good luck

Most simple thing is check the fuse box, my top is connected to an accesory lead and I pulled it out before when messing with the wiring, good luck!

Doubt if you blew a fuse. Here is a pic of the master power fuse and tang for plugging in the p.top wire.

I suspect the switch, personally, but taking it out's a minor pain, you'll be removing the dash pad and dropping the steering coulumn, but we'll burn that bridge when we're on it

Your fuel pump shouldn't have had much to do with the top...I am a bit confused as to your pump being electrical or mechanical, though

How often do you use your top? Often? A few times a year? never?

Open the trunk, take everything out, and get a flashlight. get underneath the "bag" that's back there that houses the top when it's in the down position, and inspect your hydraulic lines

Are they clear(ish)? Or do they look like there's blue rock candy in there?

My chassis manual is up at my shop, but I have a wiring diagram for that. I'd be happy to photocopy the section for you if you need it- I just don't have access to a photocopier that will do that at the moment

We have not gotten that far but you can get a bad spot on the commutator of the electric top motor and it will do that. If there is power to the motor with the switch closed turn it slightly and it should begin to work again. We can then talk about how to fix that .
