I can't for the life of me remember who I talked to or find their contact info, but I need the metal "J"-shaped lip that holds the trunk weatherstrip. My is rusted or rotted in too many places. I need it to be good all the way around. I need as much metal to repair it as possible. In other words when you cut it, cut on the sides where it's vertical and meets the quarter panel, on top where it goes vertical and meets the deck, and on the bottom where it disappears under the bumper. In other words, about the size of the rear decklid or just slightly larger (1/4" or 1/2" or so). Any body have one?
A day late! I just cut the quarter panels off my 72 Skylark. That means both sides of the weather strip channel for the truck is gone. I still have the front and back, minus about 2-4" on each side if that helps - which you could have for shipping.
Scott are you going to take Carl up on his offer ? If not i'm interested in the rear section next to the latch.
Carl, thanks but mine is pretty much rotted all the way around. I would need the complete unit. So Jarrod, it's all yours. Still looking though. Does anyone know if a Chevelle is the same?
Carl, I did some wirebrushing and scraping and looking at what I didn't absolutely need. The pic shows that the sides are ok, I need the top and bottom. If you still have it, I would like those pieces. Thx, Scott
I have the lip you need would have to be cut out of the panel so 50.00 +shipping . If you don't get another one .
Mark, you're not too far from me, less than 4 hrs (We lived in Roswell for a while). I appreciate your offer. But I don't have a torch to cut it. John, sent you a PM, am interested. Thanks to both you guys.
