Need 200R tranny REAL BAD!!!

    Okay, folks...

I need a 200R for my '72 clone with a 350. I have a 3:42 rear and it's killing me not to be able to run up to speed on the highway. And, with premium running $2.40 or so a gal around here, I could use all the help I can get.

Prefer newer rebuild. No special build-up or stall needed, I just want to mate it up to my 350 and go. I had a 700R behind a 455 in the same car a few years back and loved it. If anyone is within 250 or so from Wichita, KS, or somewhere between here and Cincinnati, I can come get it.

In a perfect world, I'd have it in and ready to drive the car to BG next month. Help!

I find it hard to believe you can not find a G-body in your area with a 200R.
There has to be some yards in your area with some. Maybe you should consider buy a whole car???? Have you checked the bargain trader?

I find the best 2004R transmisions that i have found are in full size wagons ( Olds or Buick )that have 307 Olds engines in them, look for a wagon that has very little wear and it should be a good one. I also use the Olds TV cable braket because it bolts to the back of the carb ( which I also take ) as well, it has the correct gemoetry for the cable if used with the same carb. On my Buicks I run a 1" spacer ( Mr Gasket makes it ) under the carb so the lower portion of the linkage will clear the intake I do not know if this is a problem with other 350 Buicks but all my intakes the carb is to low for TV cable clearance. I have used 4 of these exact transmisions now ( even in my 81 RX7 350 SBC swap ) and they have worked very well for a daily driver. I have not put one behind any of my 455's yet but I will as soon as i can afford a "Built one ". One other note on the transmisions I have described, the lock up has only one wire from the trans and a vacume switch on the engine it is a slick way to keep the lock up with NO hassel at all. as all the cars I take the trans from are carberated anyway no computer stuff to deal with!!
