Looking for a nailhead engine, preferably a 64 or later 401 or 425. What ya got? Rebuilders ok, would like something in the midwest. Let me know what ya have. frydfsh@msn.com, thanks Dan. :beer

  2. I've been debating selling the good, running '66 Nailhead 401 motor that is in my '64 parts car. It is a good spare part, but it would also help the Buick fund for the project car. :Brow:

Is 12 hours too far to drive?

    Good "southern" engine.

That would be a long drive, but I drove 1600 miles to by my car so I guess I would consider it. How much are you asking and what does it include? Apart?together?complete? In the car? Can I see it run? Brackets, starter valve covers, model its in?Any info you got would be appreciated.

    2X4 setup?

Hey FrydFsh. . I just sent you a PM about an extra 2X4 factory nailhead setup I have available . . . Take a look! :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay

  7. The motor is a 1966 Nailhead, put in this 1964 Wildcat back in the 90s. It ran and drove, but currently does not have a carb on it. It would come complete from the intake manifold to the oil pan, sans accessories/brackets, exhaust manifolds, flywheel, fuel pump, and air cleaner. It last ran in May of last year, and I have video. It could be started again if you shipped a carb down. I would be more than willing to throw the original Rochester carb in, but it leaks gas out of it, so it would be dangerous to use, hence it is off the car.

The package "1966 401 Motor" would include (assembled): 4 bbl intake manifold, heads, block, everything that goes in block/heads, oil pan, valve covers, timing cover, water pump, distributor, distributor cap, rotor, thermostat (if present), and T-stat neck. The spark plug wires are a couple of sets mixed together; I just needed to car to run around the yard.

Once again this would be a complete, running, motor.

I would keep the accessories as this is my parts car, but the only thing that could not be had at a parts store would be the power steering pump, bracket, and alternator bracket, and I could be talked out of those if the money was right.

I actually do not have a price yet; I just thought this week about selling it, but have not checked into the value of the motor. I would be interested in a reasonable offer.

I'll try to post a picture of it tonight. :beer
