This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. nailhead aftermarket heads...hmmm

Discussion in 'Repro Parts' started by inlovewitabuick, Apr 22, 2004.

  1. alright. lets take the bulletproof nailhead and give it some major grunt by producing a set of aluminum heads that can really breath. incorporate some new style roller rockers into the design and voila....instant creaminess for us nailheaders. don't make me beg...ok....PPPPLLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

I agree-the Nailhead was a good engine and would really benefit from a set of aluminum heads. I hope they are made for the sake of you nailhead guys.

There were around a dozen sets of alum. ones made, by Buick, but they were not that big of an improvement.
Send your heads to Gessler's Head porting for bigger valves, porting and polishing and flow testing.
As for the roller rockers Tom Telesco will have them available soon if they aren't already. His mini starter has been available for a few years.
A set of TA's jet hot coated headers are sweet too.

  4. Jim Burek is capable of getting 240 cfm intake and close to 190 cfm on the exhaust side. thats darn good for an engine where the stock flow was horribly restricted with stock intake flowing 190 cfm and stock exhaust flowed 120 cfm. in my book having him port the original heads is far better than hoping that somebody someday might make aftermarket heads (which is highly unlikely)
