Hi,I'm looking for a set of driver or used n25 tips. Please let me know if your looking to sell them, any condition considered.I know of the repro's,but not interested in spending $250 to $350 for tips.Gibson has some nice s/s tip sets for under $100.I might have to go that route if I can't find any here.Thanks,Tom.
They sell them through Summit Racing. You can check them out through here. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=400224+307584+115&autoview=sku
Tom, I have been offered over $350 for a nice set of "Driver quality" originals that would need replated to be perfect. I think your best bet would be to buy a set of repro's. Duane
Tom, I didn't want to dissapoint you, but thought you should know what you're up against. Duane PS. The stainless steel repro's are really nice, and are easy to keep clean.
Are you ready to buy STAINLESS? Hello Tom! I've been manufacturing 2-1/2" and 3" stainless steel N25 tips since 1994. You can ask around, many GSCA members and plenty of guys on this V8 forum have my N25 tips on their car!! Matter of fact, I have a 3" set sitting here right now, with YOUR NAME all-over-them, just waiting! :TU: This 3" set can be easily modified to work on a 2-1/2 inch exhaust system by any good muffler shop. Anyway, $285 shipped to your door. You'll have them in 10 days if you act soon. :beer Wheelz, Tampa Bay
70 SS tips I went with the 70 SS Chevell tips untill I could get around to shopping around for aftermarket N-25 TIPS. THEY LOOK GREAT . Infact my friend has an exhaust snop and he threw in the new SS tips and ran a 2, 1/2 " systen ,Aluminized pipe and X pipe for $150.00. I had to buy the 2 chanber flow masters 69.00 each {JEGS}. I like the above post though on the stainless repos though.
I have a good pair of original N25 tips that are polished and ready for installation on my car.. and they are getting hard to find.. I would NOT be surprised if the NOS tips on e-bay went for 1500 bucks when all is said and done.. Good stuff.
Wow only 900 off I wasn't sure where these were going either but 609 for these seems high . I will be satisfied with repro unless I can get a set of NOS or good originals that I can afford .
Re: Are you ready to buy STAINLESS? >>I'm throwing in a related question here as I am considering having my '71 rear bumper converted to an N25 type in the future. Does having the exhaust through the rear bumper cause any burning of the chrome or discoloring? Just curious as to if there are any drawbacks to having an N25 bumper.
My bumper had discoloration when I bought the car and the previous owner said it was due to the N25 exhaust. It came with an aftermarket exhaust system with the original tips and maybe it was not installed correctly. The tips stuck out of the bumper about 2 inches. I'm most likely going with Garder exhaust and I would imagine it would not happen with the factory correct application. Anyone else? Mike
Could you imagine if you Paid big money for these and someone with a wrench in their pocket simply unbolted them at a car show? Need a special security system just for the tips! :eek2:
>>Hi Mike. Thanks for letting me know - it just seems to me like having the exhaust so close to the bumper would cause some kind of discoloration over time. Right now I have Flowmaster 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust with baloni cut tips that I am very happy with and I was not sure if I wanted to spend all the money to do a N25 set up. I have to admit that the N25 looks very cool though....
