I just bought my last 68 Riviera GS parts car for $750 (with posi, bucket seats, console shifter, restorable) This is # 5 Riviera ,I also have 2 Lesabres, 5 Electras, 1 wildcat, a76 Olds 98 Reagency, 2 56 Roadmasters and 1 55 super parts car. About 1/3 are in running condition. I've got a 60 acre farm where they reside and are mostly out of site. She doesn't understand that you cant just buy parts for restorations. I now have enough cars and parts for about 15 years of projects., 2 of which are in progress. I patiently listened to her 'concerns" for 1 hour, being married for 25 years helps you to figure this out. She has fifteen horses . I work 60 hours a week, with a great Salary. She stays at home. Does anyone have words of wisdom that might help her understand this passion for buicks I have? Do you think I've got a problem that need addressing?

Well take it from ME , with over 50 cars, 100 acres of land , etc. I would imagine I will only mayyyyybe get 3 cars restored in my lifetime......

Let the "concerns" go in one ear and out the other....I've told a few girlfriends " The cars were here before you, they will most likely be here after you"..

Any wonder I'm broke, single, and hardly anything runs now ?

You could point out to her that you don't have to feed your Buicks everyday and anything that you don't drive needs no upkeep of any kind, although this would be counter productive for sure. Why is it that people that have thier own addictions, horses, see addiction in others but cannot see thier own. :Dou: Make her a deal get rid of one car of her choise for every horse you get rid of, of your choise. Yes you do have a Buick addiction, but almost people have some type of addiction and yours is a good one, as is your wifes. Good luck with the problem!!

Well you did mention that you have an Olds, so the addiction can't be that bad...

That's what I was thinking. Next buy a couple mopars and fords, maybe a cadillac too and it will be less obvious.

Ok, a woman's view point here, if I may.

Do you work on the cars all your free time? That's the only place where I personally would see a problem. My husband and I have 3 Buicks that he can work on. I know it's his hobby, and it gives him something to do. I don't begrudge him the time to do this, because he also spends time with me. Do you do this? Because if she's not working, she may be looking to you to entertain her when you get home from work. You may have to compromise, maybe.

Is she into the cars at all? I know I love all our Buicks, and I like watching the racing. The shows can get on my nerves, sometimes, but they can also be fun. Do you guys belong to a club? We run a club, and have met some fantastic folks because of it. That helps - having friends involved, too.

So this is just my .02, for what it's worth.

Tell her you "only" have a few more cars than she has horses.....then wait for the dirty looks........... :puzzled:

Gee, I might have to agree with Shari on this one. Having a bunch of Buicks may not be the problem, the problem mightn be you spend all your time with them and none or little with her?
