Verify your trunk torsion springs are there. I bet one is broken and/or missing. If so, you will need to replace them.

    Hi, just a short question.

I have a 68 Riv. The remote opener is unlocking the trunk, but is/was it suppose to open up the trunk itself?

I have a 70 LeSabre, and the electric popper justs unlocks the trunk, you have to then go lift it up...makes sense, as it would suck if the decklid would just fly upward cos it's so heavy.
