Hi Guys, Here is a few pics of my motor. We got it pretty much together and on the engine test stand. Motor should be running by mid week if all goes well. Hoping for 400/400 out of her!. Thanks Gary
Ok this is what comes to mind: Block was bored bored over 30, hot tanked, sonic checked etc ta cast 10:1 pistons ta C113 Cam ta timing chain ta springs ta seats ta retainers ta push rods ta lifters ta grooved cam bearings heads ported and polished and unshrouded.(ta 1.92 & 1.55 SS valves) Head flow numbers came out pretty good. set of used hooker super comp headers Accel points eliminator and supercoil 7040244 QJET Crank was polished and balanced Arp bolts used on main Rods were reconditioned, polished and arp bolts added ta oil pump booster added ta rocker shafter assemblies ta oil pick up tube gary calculated compression at 9.65:1 so I should be able to run pump gas with no problems
Well Gary broke the motor in and did some basic tuning. She sounded pretty nice and i cant wait to have it together and back on the road. Today i took it and dropped it in so the real fun can begin!
Great to see the progress on your new motor! And it's especially cool to see a clutch attached to a SBB! BTW, if I haven't mentioned it to you in a previous post, I'll say it now-- I'm totally diggin' the color of your car (is it still looking the same as in the avatar pic?). That dark green, with a black interior and the Buick rallies is a really classy look for the '70-'72 body style. Big thumbs up!:TU:
Thanks Chris. Yes the car still looks exactly the same, but it does have a green interior. The 4 speed with the SBB is cool and something you don't see around and I'm hoping it will be a lot more fun with the new motor in her!
Have no clue yet...Im hoping to get it assembled enough to atleast run her but its a long shot. Either I will take her to a local dyno ( I have to find one) or I might take it down the track here locally to give me an idea or have someone experienced do it to see what it really runs.
If you have an I-Phone you can get a program called dynolicous. This is supposed to be very close on the times and Hp.
Well the car is fighting me now but I'm getting closer to running her...My fan pulley has gone missing and is going to be a hold up now.
There is a place on rt 8 south just south of Boston Heights Past the turnpike on the left side. I can't think of the name of the place right now but they have been there a while.
