Before I knew about this board my Dad took me out to his friends house. He got my Dad interested in Buicks meaning he is a Buick nut himself. He has an 87 GN and a 1969 GS 400 Convertible. I was offered to go for a ride in it to get a pizza. It has a 455 in it which I was really only interested in turbo cars before that. After a ride in it I realized what a 455 Buick engine could do. He flogged it a couple of times and I couldn't help but smile about what I was experiencing. Two weeks later I had a 455 in my Dad's garage. Simply awesome power. I just thought I would share my experience with the board.

    Steve....

One of my cousins is very well off - money wise. His sons have grown up with the "Golden Spoon" in their mouths their whole life and so have all the other "Rich Kids" in their neighborhood that they associates with.....we're talking they type where Dad buys them a Porsche or Audi for graduating High schiool

....But My cousin's oldest son has always had an eye for Old Muscle. Last year he was out for my nephews' graduation party and I drove my '69 GS400 Convert. (455-equipped) there. I made about 6 different trips giving rides to alot of my nephews' friends but when it was time for my Cousin's son to get in, I also called my nephew into the car.

I took the two of them for THE RIDE OF THEIR LIVES.....nothing too dangerous but some Serious display of Buick Big Block excitement....also made them swear NOT to tell their mothers :gt:

A year later now, I go to the older cousins' graduation (without the GS) and it was like I was John Force or something !! All of his friends new of me and had seen Video's I've posted of the car running the 1/4....and All of them wanted to know about the car !! I must have spent at least an hour of the party talking to them .... and also telling them how my car is "Way Slow" compared to some of the fast Buicks out there.

I did also tell them that Hi HP cars need respect and that I didn't think any of them should be driving FAST cars with their newly printed drivers license and their lack of experience behind the wheel......boy that went over Real big

....All from that one ride I gave him. For his graduation present his Dad bought him a '68 Mustang Fastback - something thats solid but needs drivetrain and interior work that stayed home for father and son to work on, while he got to take his Mom's BMW X5 with him to college:Dou:
