Ok Cason, I'll bite. So what do you have to say.

Are you saying that points are more relieable than a stock hei or an aftermarket conversion like pertronix ?

From what Ive seen his MSD products keep failing. That's why we only sell Mallory :bla: (note: That's all Ive read soo if I missed something don't kill me :pp)

Theres quite a bit of material in the ports. A competition 3 angle valve job with oversized valves would be amazing too.

Alright did a couple small things on the list yesterday, some just superficial. I went to O'Reilly yesterday and he said they don't carry 1/8" copper wire. Who doesn't carry 1/8" copper wire?!?! Ugh, just a little rant. But I'll let you know stuff goes.

Oh I've also been thinking about getting a GS hood soon, but I saw a Stage II hood scoop and I thought it looked pretty awesome. I can't seem to find one anywhere online though.

I've also been wondering how the stages go. There's 1, 2, and 3 right? And is 1 or 3 the highest performance level? Thanks.

Buick only marketed the "Stage 1" option for production. They marketed "Stage 2" go fast parts over the counter for racers.

That's where Buick left off. If you see "Stage 3" and up, it's probably just aftermarket parts marketing, such as TA Performance's Stage 3 and 4 tall port big block aluminum head options.

I've never replaced the points in my stock distributor and they have never let me down. Every MSD product I've used failed within a year or two. When you break down because of your aftermarket ignition TWICE like me, you would be hating that stuff with a passion too.

Thanks Devon. I know Poston made the Stage II scoop, but they're out of business right? I can't find a place that markets them online. I've been finding a lot of how to cut holes in the hood and stuff like that but I can't find any where-to-buy's.

I'd post in "parts wanted". Someone may have one they're not using.

Cason, I suggested a stock HEI, they are relativly cheep. That is why I suggested that. As far as aftermarket I meant the conversion like pertronix but I have never used them personally, so I have no opinion on them. But anything I have owned that I put an HEI in I never went back because I thought it was more reliable or ran better on points. There is a reason that they quit using them from the factory.

I know for sure I told him tubing. Just a mistake I made while typing. I had it written down on paper on a list of things to get and I am 100% sure I said tubing. But whatever, I'll go to autozone tomorrow and see what they have.

Look at a decent hardware store too, or a plumbing/heating company...a phone call should do it.

its not copper wire its copper tubing, they have it at autozone, its from Sunpro with the gages. just go to a autoparts store that sells sunpro and they will have it there or you can buy it from summit. I bought mine there, then when that wasnt long enough i went to autozoen and bought another.

Yeah I made the mistake while typing. I know I asked the guy for tubing though. But I'll call around town, surely someone has it. Nothing a couple phone calls won't take care of.

personally i was totally shocked when autozone had it, happy but shocked. Gage works nice. Measure first or youll be sorry. a tubing cutter is nice to have otherise you will pinch the tubing and it wont fit nice in the ferule.

Matt, you have so much already going on in this thread regarding performance enhancements you might want to think about starting a new thread for troubleshooting.

Alright. I thought it may be overkill with possibly having too many threads going at once. But I will do so. Thanks.
