Here's a pic of my new distributor built by Davy Ray, the IgnitionMan. I am very happy w/ it. Took my first long trip today, upstate NY to Lehigh Valley PA and back. Ran great. On the trip down, I got 17 mpg, w/ speeds averaging 75-80. Not too shabby.

Its a NAPA coil. Its on his list, very stealthy, but cost me about $45. But prices out here are a little high, me thinks.

Woodie (MichaelB), problems with one of my distributors?? If so, I need to know about it immediately so we can get it dialed and fixed asap. Please let me know.

NAPA has two coils with the IC12 number.

First is the IC12, american made, good deal, oil filled. Use this one.

The second is the IC12SB, made in Mexico, epoxy filled, lower cost, lower quality, different specifications, DO NOT USE THIS COIL.

Can you run the msd 6al box with one of those distributors that Dave builds?

Dave, No problem with your unit. My timing chain just let loose at the same time that I had put the dist. in. Timing chain ahd been hitting fuel pump arm and finally decided to let go. Fuel pump has some nice grooves in it, soo its been an on going thing. Just bad timming:Brow: :Brow: ...

Ok, Woodie. Anything I can do to help??

I actually do two different conversions, small body HEI, as shown above, and a dedicated MSD trigger only. The MSD trigger will run any ignition unit that will accept a magnetic trigger signal. Both my dist conversions use MSD p/n 8466-1 magnetic pickup, so...for the MSD trigger, it is the same electronics that any billit MSD dist uses.

Look at the pics above, MSD trigger is same as those, but no HEI module in place.
