I own a 1970 350-4bbl Skylark. 2door. I'm about done with a 455 rebuild. Anyways, I've never really had a chance to see what the 350 could do against a newer car... Aside from easilly passing my bros. 1998 Eagle Vision. About 11:30 PM, I was pulling into Walmart parking lot after work. I pulled into my spot and got out.. I noticed a younger guy walking with his girlfriend. This guy about broke his neck looking at my car.. Had the door to walmart been non electric, he'd have run into it.... So I'm already feelin a little proud. about 45minutes later I hop in my car to leave, and pull up behind a 2004 supercharged Grand Prix. Dual exhaust, sunroof etc. Looked pretty sporty. I also noticed the driver was the same guy staring at my car. I noticed he kept staring in his rear view mirrow. Any ways, we pulled out onto freway. Normal speed about 30mph just starting to accelerate.. I decided to get in other lane and go around him... Not intending for anything to happen.. Just wanted to see his face...... as the front of my car was about to the rear of his in oposite lane, I seen the rear of his car squat a little and the front raised a little, knowing he just punched it, I answered in return. I gave it gas and kept up for a bit, about even with his window now, I decided it was time to open the 4bbls. I noticed his window was down and figured he'd like to hear the pipes first hand... Wam!!!! 4bbls engaged and my car did a little squating of its own. Easily I was about 3 car lengths ahead. He was staying about the same distance away, so I know he was attempting to stay in this thang. I decided to let off at about 88mph. Lights were coming up and You never know if headlights belong to local PD... After breaking down to speed limit, he passsed me and didn't even look my way..... Poor fella, I felt kinda bad, He just wanted to look cool for his woman, maybee next time i'll let him win,,,,, then again maybee not...Hahaha
HAHAHAHA! I Love it! I did that once too, but I was in an 87 GN and he was in a 90 vette (This was back in '93 and was when I decided to get a sticker for my back window that read "I brake for corvettes). It was a light to light kinda thing that I stil chuckle about today! I'm sure you'll have many more stories in the coming years :Brow:
HA, poor guy. Well if its any consalation to you (not that you need anymore) but she was thinking about your car all the way home, and in a totally diffrent way than he was.
