I have a similair story, this was against a Subaru WRX car.
It had been raining whole day, and the track we were driving was wet before we got to battle it out against each other we were allowed to make a couple of practice runs.
Well I can tell you in that rainy and wet track rear of the GS was sliding this slippery survice badly. (I had MT Dragslicks on the rear wheels to:Dou: )
The Subaru WRX with its 4x4 seem to have no problems with these track conditions.
So after a couple of slip and slide testruns, we finally got to make the Real run.
We lined up, and were off, the WRX shoots forward, while I was getting out the hole gently so not to slip and loose precious time..it worked so far so good.
The WRX was 3 maybe 4 car lengts away now, and I was increasing the rpms not to fast so not to get in a slip, and not to slow to to keep that WRX in my sight!
At the 1/8 mile I finally took a gamble and floored it and kept it there.
The GS on its slicks didn't slip:TU: a peak in the rearview mirror told me the track was still very wet, a big cloud of water haze was being trown up by the tires.
Mean while the GS was making up the distance between the WRX and was getting close every second, suddenly the WRX and the GS were riding side by side and the finishline was ver close, the GS pulled a nose lenght away from the WRX and we crossed the finish!
The WRX driver was amazed about has he called it "stunt" and his friends couldn't believe it either, so he suddenly start to talk about he was having turbo problems...:bla:
